Bring your natural design talent and passion for visual storytelling to the Genesis Science Network studio. Working alongside our production team, you'll apply your skills in animation, typography, and design to translate scientific concepts into compelling on-air stories. This structured, unpaid internship is designed to give you real-world broadcast experience, build your professional portfolio, and earn college credit. Apply your storytelling skills by creating motion graphics for our broadcast segments. Working alongside our production team, you'll practice taking visual assets from concept to final broadcast-ready renders.

You'll thrive here if
✓Sophomore standing or above in animation, motion graphics, digital media, design, film, or a related field.
✓A natural eye for visual design: clean composition, typography, and color harmony (even if you're still building your portfolio).
✓Basic familiarity or experience with Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro (student or personal projects are perfect).
✓A passion for explaining complex concepts and telling stories through motion design.
✓Able to commit about 15 to 20 hours a week for roughly three months, and eligible to earn academic credit through your school (we help with the paperwork).
A note on our mission. We are a Christian ministry, and everything we produce serves that mission. We welcome interns of any background who are glad to contribute to faith-based, family-friendly science programming. You will not be asked to sign a statement of faith to intern here.

Is this internship paid?+
No. It is unpaid and designed for academic credit. Because it is tied to your school's credit program, it meets the requirements most universities set for unpaid internships, and we will sign whatever affiliation paperwork your program requires.
Can I really do this remotely?+
Yes. Remote interns get footage and assets through a shared cloud workflow, join a weekly video check-in, and deliver on set deadlines. The creative expectations are the same as on site.
What software and equipment do I need?+
You will work mainly in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro. Remote interns need their own capable computer and Adobe subscription (often free or discounted through your school). In-person interns get a workstation and an Adobe license on site.
How many hours per week, and how flexible is it?+
Plan on about 15 to 20 hours per week across roughly three months, flexible around your class schedule as long as you hit weekly deliverables and attend the check-in.
Can I use the work in my portfolio and reel?+
Yes. You are allowed to include finished pieces that air on our network on your personal reel. Leaving with real, broadcast-quality work is the whole point.
Will I get a reference or evaluation for my school?+
Yes. Your supervisor completes any evaluation forms your program requires and will provide a reference letter on request.

We are a Christian ministry and our content reflects that mission, so we ask interns to respect and support it in their work. You do not need to sign a statement of faith to intern here.
When will I hear back after applying?+
We review on a rolling basis and reach out, usually within about a week. Because spots are limited, we encourage you to apply early rather than wait for a deadline.
